"My battery is low and it’s getting dark (2024) relates a fantasized vision of a rover’s burial on Mars. The starting point for this textile work is the 3D simulations and images of Mars produced by NASA’s rovers, and its title is borrowed from the last sentence sent by Opportunity when he died, relayed on social networks by the US space agency. Here, scientific imagery is combined with a story that revolves around the relationship between humans and machines: are the rovers alive, do they have a soul? Are they more than machines, more than humans? The work, created using Aubusson digital stitch, reproduces a traditional weaving technique using new technologies. Each weaving point is equal to a pixel."
